MISSION STATEMENT OF THE
MILWAUKEE YOUNG LAWYERS ASSOCIATION ("MYLA")

The purposes for which the Corporation is formed and in pursuit of which it will be operated are to perform charitable and educational activities for the Milwaukee community, to advance the professional education and welfare of young lawyers, to promote fellowship among themselves and the members of the Bar as a whole, to advance the standards of the legal profession and the administration of justice, to promote the general welfare of the community, and to engage in any lawful activity within the purposes for which corporations may be organized under Chapter 181 of the Wisconsin Statutes.

MYLA thus has a two prong focus:

Community Service/Pro Bono
Member service and support

MYLA has always prided and committed itself in attempting to enhance the welfare of the Milwaukee community and the State of Wisconsin through various legal information programs. This commitment to community has been, is, and always will remain a primary focus of the MYLA.

At the same time that we dedicate ourselves to a commitment to community, MYLA also is committed to presenting a forum for young lawyers to get together and socialize, interact, support each other, and just have a good time.

MYLA attempts to focus on and provide a supplement to other services provided by other bar organizations.

MYLA also strives to promote collaborative and cooperative efforts with other bar associations, to avoid duplication of efforts, conserve resources, and to reach a greater number of people.
