Susan Spoerk is a Westlaw Academic Account Manager.  She has been with West Group since 1991 after earning her law degree from Marquette University Law School.  Susan received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 1986.  Between undergraduate studies and law school Susan worked for U.S. Senator William Proxmire.  Susan is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar, Milwaukee Bar Association and past-president of the Milwaukee Young Lawyers Association.

During her tenure at MYLA, Susan served as editor of the MYLA Brief.  The newsletter under her leadership received the ABA Excellence award.  She presented at the 1999 Wisconsin Bar Leaders Conference,  “How to Enhance Communications”. MYLA recognized her efforts by awarding her with the 1999 MYLA Service Award for the improvements she made to the MYLA newsletter.

Susan also co-chaired the Membership Committee where she instituted the new membership welcome packets.  Susan was chair of the Communications Committee and started the MYLA Liaison program.  This program received national recognition by the ABA and Susan presented, “Liven Up Your Association with Liaisons” at the 2001 Spring ABA/YLD conference.   When asked what her fondest memory of MYLA was, she responded, “Co-chairing the MYLA Barrister’s Bash, we had a great time and raised money for the Sojourner Truth House.”
